Functions & Duties of Chief Accounts Officer

The duties of the Chief Accounts Officer shall include the following:

  • To be in charge of the Accounts Section and the internal Audit section of the Federation and to be in charge of the cheque books and all Bank accounts and securities in the name of the Federation.
  • To arrange for preparation of all statement of account from time to time.
  • To supervise the work of Mobile Audit Staff and internal Audit staff.
  • To check the cash balance and the securities at least once in a month and certify its correctness.
  • To check all the accounts registers periodically at least once in a month and certify its correctness.
  • To scrutinize all bills before they are passed for payment.
  • To arrange for preparation of bills to be sent to the concerned authorities for their realization from time to time.
  • To reconcile the accounts between the Government and the Federation, and between the Federation and the agents in respect of commodities handled by the Federation.
  • To sign cheques along with the General Manager or the Secretary (A/Cs) or other office bearers as may be decided by the Board from time to time.
  • To arrange for compilation of all statements required from time to time.
  • To arrange for reconciliation of all bank balances.
  • To perform such other duties that may be entrusted from time to time by the Managing Director.
  • To prepare the Annual Budget.
  • To arrange for maintenance of accounts books and preparation of balance sheets and other financial statements as on 30th June & 31st December of every year and to draft replies to the observation of the Auditor.
  • To attend to the correspondence relating to Accounts Section.
  • To arrange for submission of half-yearly balance sheet.
